The project involved severe winter construction and equipment installation works for a power plant located in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, approximately 700 km northeast of Edmonton and 280 km north of Ft. McMurray.
Our work
ATCO Power Canada contracted Chant to supply materials, equipment, and provide general contracting services.
Major materials and equipment were delivered to site over an ice road creating formidable logestical and schedule challenges.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The work included the construction of an underground electrical trench for 4160V power generation, installation of diesel storage tanks (tank farm), and installation of required utilidors and piping.
